The Bill of Rights commits the American justice system to the presumption of innocence in all criminal proceedings, and mandates proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a pronouncement of guilt. I represent defendants battling the criminal court system. This encompasses arraignments, pretrial hearings, settlement conferences, trials and sentence hearings. I defend adults and juveniles at the federal, state and municipal level throughout Northern New Jersey and New York City.
When two or more parties become embroiled in a legal dispute seeking money or another remedy rather than criminal sanctions, civil litigation is the result. They must instead head to the courtroom for trial so a judge or jury can decide the matter. I represent individual and corporate clients across a broad spectrum of associated proceedings, including pretrial hearings and depositions, as well as arbitration or mediation before administrative agencies or court personnel, up to and including trials and appeals.
The legal system provides us with many tools to bolster personal and business goals, and avoid the pitfalls of disputes that result in litigation. I help individuals, business owners, and their families with estate planning (wills, trusts, and powers of attorney), commercial and residential real estate closings, corporate services, commercial collections, mortgage and financial matters, general contract drafting and review, and other consultation services.
